Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities, or those in memory care settings. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing assistance with daily activities, medication administration, and emotional support. This position requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide support to individuals with autism and other disabilities in both group home and home care settings.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Lift and assist clients as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients while adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in nursing homes, memory care facilities, group homes, or similar environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility as required.
- A valid driver's license may be required based on job location and client needs.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory at the time of hire; training will be provided.
