If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the life of a child, Project Harmony is looking for you.  We are seeking an experienced and committed Chief Program Officer to join our dynamic and innovative organization.   Reporting to the CEO, the CPO will be a strategic thought-partner and exceptional leader who collaborates with senior leaders, employees, teams, key partners, the board, and stakeholders to build and sustain the current and future state of Project Harmony’s program service areas.


The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and support organizational goals. They will oversee strategic planning and quality service specific to program areas. CPO will be innovative and a strategic thinker, strong at improving client services, and institutionalizing processes, and a team player committed to strengthening Project Harmony's organizational culture. The CPO is also accountable for tracking and reporting on the deliverability of these services, supporting findings with objective data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Leadership and Management:

  • Partners regularly with the CEO and Executive Team in the overall development and implementation of the strategic plan and assist in the execution of agency initiatives to ensure comprehensive responses are in place to reach the organizational strategic goals
  • Provide leadership with the execution of budgeting and grant processes to include identifying program needs and financial impacts, securing funding, and ensuring a high level of fiscal responsibility
  • Provide leadership with community initiatives, assist in maintaining strong funder relationships and ensure a solid agency presence and engagement with collaborative partners
  • Support the CEO in strengthening relationships with the public, agency partners, and community organizations
  • Provide oversight of the program leadership and actively engage in building the strength of the program areas as it aligns to the mission and core values of Project Harmony
  • Mentor and collaborate with program VP’s and directors to ensure consistent quality advocacy, education, intervention, and therapeutic services with regards to child abuse and its prevention
  • Represent Project Harmony in community task forces, speaking engagements, conferences, and trainings that further the agency mission
  • Other related duties as assigned

Administration and Program:

  • Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of all programmatic and community services, promoting collaborative relationships between departments and ensuring that expectations of funders, partners, constituents, clients and other stakeholders are consistently met
  • Ensure and report program qualitative and quantitative goals and outcomes, supporting findings with objective data including statistics, research, and objective evaluation tools
  • Coordinate and analyze data outcomes including statistics, evidenced based research, and objective evaluation tools to inform programmatic decisions regarding funding and service needs
  • Work closely with the Finance and Development teams to ensure that submitted requests/grants support program initiatives and that submissions are streamlined. Ensure that funds are available, grants reports are submitted in a timely manner, grant funding is properly spent and outcomes reported
  • Work with program VPs to determine hiring needs to achieve program goals and objectives 
  • Monitor public and social policy issues that affect clients, programs, and overall agency; raise awareness about legislation that influences Project Harmony and/or community partners
  • Represent Project Harmony on local, state, and national initiatives/workgroups as needed


Requirements

Qualifications


Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in social work, criminal justice, psychology or related field 
  • Master’s degree preferred


Experience and Training

  • 5 years of progressive senior leadership experience in non-profit organizations or clinical program leadership
  • 5 years experience in child welfare or mental health related field


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management and communication skills, including speaking, listening, and writing
  • Leadership experience in child welfare or related social services field with strong skills in coaching, employee development, and program development
  • Proven efficacy in a team-oriented and a highly collaborative setting
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Experience analyzing program procedures and practices to identify barriers to achieving goals and making recommendations for improvement
  • Knowledge and understanding of the child welfare and criminal justice systems
  • Strong ability to represent the interests of the agency, interact effectively with diverse groups, and be at ease building successful collaborations with partners, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • High level of initiative and energy
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality



Other

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state
