POSITION SUMMARY
Function as often the first point of contact for all patients utilizing our facilities for health care. Manage the timely and accurate collection of important patient information, and function as a resource to patients entering the facility.
Ensures the accurate and timely patient intake and check out of all patients.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manage/assist with all patient registration and administrative processes as assigned. Ensure all relevant patient registration records collected are accurate, current, and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Ensure all clients/patients served experience a high level of customer satisfaction and care.
3. Provide support for additional administrative and support activities within the registration / business office, maintaining an acceptable level of productivity and consistency with all tasks as assigned.
4. Ensure that all records collected, processed, entered and filed are done so in a timely, accurate manner.
5. Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
6. Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records, and manage all daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the clinic’s policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.
7. Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships within and among the clinic staff, as well as with patients, vendors, contractors, and related resources.
PRIMARY TASKS & DUTIES
1. Contribute to functionality of their assigned care team.
2. Medical Information Management
a. Promote accuracy and efficiency in front desk procedures and paperwork.
b. Assist providers and MA’s with patient follow-up.
c. Assist with daily processing of incoming records and records requests using EMR.
d. Assist patients, providers, and staff with insurance issues.
e. Oversee records requests and other front-desk invoices.
f. Daily scanning, data entry and troubleshooting of patient paperwork using EMR.
3. Patient/Customer Service
a. Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships within and among patients and staff
b. Maintain an environment conducive to patient comfort and confidentiality.
c. Manage patient intake and reception
d. Answer phone calls and assist with phone system.
e. Assist clients with all paperwork.
f. Engage in crisis intervention and client advocacy. Ensure all paperwork required for the registration process is prepared accurately and timely.
g. Maintain accurate, thorough filing of all paperwork.
h. Participates in meetings and training as required
i. Participates in Quality Subcommittee.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
1. Function in a multi-tasking, multiple priorities environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Communicate with a diverse, sometimes difficult, patient/customer population. Will be required to successfully manage patients and families in often stressful or conflict situations.
3. Utilize a wide variety of office technology and tools to collect, enter, process, file patient records and documentation
4. Demonstrate a high level of problem-solving skill.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Must be able to speak, read, and understand Spanish and English.
3. Experience working with under-served populations
4. Ability to multi-task and retain accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Ability to handle crisis situations & multiple tasks in high patient volume environment.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Strong reception and administrative skills.
8. Willingness and ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of situations
9. Able to work with people from diverse ethnic, cultural, gender, socioeconomic and sexual preference backgrounds.
10. Able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
11. High accuracy and attention to detail.
12. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and software, including Electronic Medical Records systems.
PREFERRED
1. Medical office or medical terminology background.
2. Bilingual spoken/written Spanish/ English preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32,076.00 - $42,600.00 per year
