Description
Supervises staff in Security, Maintenance and the Kitchen areas. Includes hiring, dealing with disciplinary issues, completing performance evaluations and all other human resource related activities.
1. Responsible for establishing and maintaining scheduling of all staff in his/her areas of responsibility.
2. Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations regarding fire safety for the facility. Responsible for fire safety drills operation of fire extinguishers, and other fire fighting and prevention equipment. Responsible for all files, logs, and other paperwork associated with this function.
3. Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations regarding food quality, food handling and food safety. Oversight of all kitchen operations and meals.
4. Responsible for ensuring CPR/Firs Aide credentialing for all members of his/her staff.
5. Maintains files, logs, or other such paperwork associated with safety issues. Ensure staff adheres to agency critical incident reporting system.
6. Maintains all agency vehicles in good repair, and all files, logs, or other such paperwork associated with this function.
7. Responsible for the management of all incidents and accidents including reporting compliance, and follow through. Responsible for all files, logs, or other such paperwork associated with this function.
8. Responsible for all equipment, petty cash and general operations procedure.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Sr. Program Director of the Drop in Center, the Case Management Supervisor, and all shift supervisors on issues regarding security, safety, maintenance of facility, and agency vehicles.
Qualifications
The position of Operations Supervisor requires extensive supervisory experience in security, fire safety and facilities management. HS Diploma/GED required with at least 3 to 5 years applicable experience in the field required.
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience in homeless service is preferred. Must have NYFS Fire Safety Director and Coordinator credentials.
Must have CPR/First Aide credential.
The Operations Supervisor must have the ability to establish and maintain workload priorities and be able to balance competing and diverse projects simultaneously.
He/she must have exceptional communication skills both in speaking and writing and be able to handle complex and sensitive issues with professionalism. The physical ability will be required to perform the essential functions of the position.
The Facilities Supervisor is expected to conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism, and uphold all policies and procedures of the agency.
