What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Drafter position at Project Resources Group?
Project Resources Group is currently searching for a Telecom FTTH/HFC AutoCAD Drafter in any of our PRG markets. The candidate will be responsible for the oversight, submission, and successful approval of all OSP Design and permit packages.
Essential Functions
In this role, your primary position responsibilities will include:
- Drafting FTTH/HFC design to AutoCAD generated Maps. Familiarity with AutoCAD Map 3D and GIS formats preferred to create final Construction ready prints
- Review, coordinate, process, and verify compliance with rules, regulations, and legal requirements applicable for all permits required from approving agencies for the placement and installation of fiber optic cable networks.
- Prepare and submit all required permit applications and associated documents to approving agencies.
- Gather as-built, field notes, survey data, and aerial imagery to create drawings.
- Create permit submittal packages
- Follows, interprets, and applies NESC standards.
- Other related duties as requested.

Experience:
- An Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent prior work experience.
- Experience creating plan and profile drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to read and understand telecommunication plans.
- Two (2) years previous experience working for a telecommunication, utility, construction, engineering, or electrical company.
- Minimum of two (2) years of AutoCAD experience.
- GIS experience is a plus
Skills and abilities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and write effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
