We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer with expertise in electrical engineering and a strong background in industrial control and automation systems.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical engineering and industrial control and automation systems, including PLC's, HMI's, and SCADA systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and develop electrical and control systems for industrial manufacturing clients
- Create electrical layouts and schematics using CAD software
- PLC & HMI system design and programming
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Develop electrical and control bill of materials for projects
- Provide field supervision during installations
- Application and sizing of motors and drives, including VFD's
- Readily identify electrical and controls equipment function and provide recommendations for upgrades
- Knowledge of the latest controls offerings in the industry for recommending to clients
- Electrical distribution system design and analysis
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 2 years of industrial electrical/controls engineering experience is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with a variety of PLC & HMI software packages is preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Occasional domestic travel in support of projects may be required
