JOB STATUS : Part-Time (29 Hours/Week) , 12 Months Per Year
LOCATION : Granite Falls, Mn
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Assistant will perform tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support and technical assistance with recruitment, orientation, status changes, data entry information, and maintains employee records along with general office support for the day-to-day operations of Human Resources functions and duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintains accurate and up to date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers general inquiries from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and fixing processing errors.
- May assist in onboarding process as well as conducting orientation(s).
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Provides Identify recruiting opportunities by researching new sources of talent, cultivating relationships with industry professionals and be proficient in networking.
- Represent a positive image of Project Turnabout at all times.
- Must have the ability to organize, articulate, and facilitate the responsibilities of outreach activities.
- Collaborate with other members of External Relations Team to carry out key initiatives in the areas of Development, Outreach, and Marketing for Project Turnabout.
- Must be capable of multitasking and addressing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be comfortable in communicating/presenting to the employees and/or outside vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by HR Manager.
REQUIREMED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Have excellent verbal and written, as well as interpersonal, and computer communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain data accuracy.
- Have a basic knowledge of chemical dependency.
- Be comfortable and have knowledge of office computer programs.
- Attend all mandatory in-services and training as required by state and federal laws as well as for the organization and for personal gain.
- Be proficient in Adobe design programs as well as database programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess basic understanding of HR principles and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn and maintain human resources information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in related field required, or 2 years or more of related experience.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must be free from chemical/gambling use problems for at least two (2) years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
