We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Dental Receptionist to join our team and help us fulfill our mission.
Job Summary:
The Dental Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. This position involves working closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment, and helping to deliver excellent dental care in a nonprofit setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Reception: Greet and check-in patients, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointments.
- Patient Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including personal information, treatment notes, and follow-up instructions.
- Insurance Coordination: Assist patients with insurance verification, claims processing, and understanding their benefits.
- Communication: Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about clinic services.
- Billing and Payments: Handle patient billing, process payments, and manage financial transactions.
- Office Management: Ensure the front office is organized, stocked with necessary supplies, and operates efficiently.
- Patient Support: Provide information and support to patients regarding their appointments, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Team Collaboration: Work as a collaborative member of the dental team, contributing to a positive and supportive clinic environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Some experience in a dental office or medical reception, preferably in a community health or nonprofit setting.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic knowledge of dental office procedures and insurance processes.
- Compassionate and trauma-informed approach to patient care, with a commitment to serving individuals from diverse backgrounds, including previously incarcerated individuals, survivors of domestic violence, and low-income populations.
