1. Position
- Engineering Apprentice

2. Job Summary
- The Engineering Apprentice is responsible for the completion of the assigned project(s) as well as the support to the designated department(s) in efforts to develop into an Engineer position in the organization.
3. Immediate Supervisor
- This position reports directly to the assigned Manager.
4. Performance Standards
- Complying with policies and procedures.
- Interacting with other employees, suppliers, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor.
5. Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing and implementing an assigned project by the Plant Manager.
- Work closely with other departments to gather information for the designated project.
- Follow up on the project activities.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools (DMAIC, Kaizen, Ishikawa, KPIs, PDCA, SMED, TPM, etc.) for the assigned project.
- Present project findings and reports on a monthly basis.
- Meet 5S requirements.
- Assist in the development of procedures as needed.
- Support Prolamsa ProTeams.
- Generate, communicate, interpret and present productivity reports.
- Communicate with the designated Manager any obstacles and work to overcome them.
- Serve as the assistant to the designated Supervisor/Manager.
- Explore opportunities to add value to the job and recommend changes to the manager.
- Stay up-to-date on industry by reading publications, taking advantage of educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks.
- Provide leadership and direction to employees as needed and motivate them to ensure focus on the company mission.
- Ensuring all safety, security, and health rules are followed.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
6. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline required
- Ability to rotate shifts
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to manage a project is essential.
- Excellent prioritization and project development skill
- Great attention to detail, thoroughness, and precision in work
- Well organized, strong time-management, ability to multi-task
- Proven ability to collaborate with peers
- Demonstrate a certain degree of creativity with analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
7. Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
8. Physical Requirements
