As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will lead the design and development of impactful learning experiences that stick. You will work closely with subject matter experts, project stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to create learner-centered content that is both engaging and effective - whether it's instructor-led training (ILT), virtual sessions, or self-paced online learning.
You must be passionate about understanding how people learn and skilled at making complex ideas simple, relatable, and relevant to the business. Your role will be pivotal in conducting needs assessments, defining learning objectives, and ensuring training drives real performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Needs Analysis & Learning Strategy
Conduct comprehensive learning needs assessments and audience analyses.
Map current vs. desired workflows and performance gaps.
Recommend appropriate learning solutions that align with business outcomes.
Instructional Design & Development
Design and write detailed storyboards and scripts for eLearning, ILT, and blended solutions.
Create facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, and supporting materials.
Develop engaging and interactive training using Adult Learning principles, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model.
Multimedia & Course Development
Collaborate with multimedia developers, graphic designers, and SMEs to produce polished deliverables.
Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, and Microsoft Office Suite to build training content.
Integrate AI tools like ChatGPT to streamline content creation, ideation, and learner engagement.
Project & Change Management
Lead or support project planning, timelines, and communication with stakeholders.
Manage multiple priorities and work in agile or fast-paced environments.
Apply change management strategies to support learning adoption and organizational impact.
Continuous Improvement
Leverage feedback, performance data, and evaluation tools to improve training effectiveness.
Stay up-to-date with emerging learning technologies, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or related field.
5 years of experience designing training for adult learners in corporate settings.
Expertise in Adult Learning Theories, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.
Strong command of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline).
Experience developing ILT and VILT content including slide decks, scripts, guides, and activities.
Skilled at creating engaging, relatable, and visually compelling learning experiences.
Experience applying project management methodologies and working with cross-functional teams.
Comfort using AI tools like ChatGPT to enhance design workflows.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Instructional Design or Learning Technologies.
Experience working with LMS platforms (e.g., Docebo, Cornerstone, Moodle).
Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI standards.
Exposure to change management frameworks such as ADKAR or Prosci.
