Overview:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a CAD Operator 3 to join our Mechanical Engineering team at the Chandler, AZ facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating mechanical drawings, designing packages, and ensuring compliance with industry and military standards. The position will involve creating 3D models, reviewing designs, and supporting various engineering functions using Siemens NX 12 and Teamcenter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Drawing Creation: Create and review mechanical drawings to ensure proper dimensions, materials, and quantities are specified.
• 3D Modeling: Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Siemens NX 12 and Teamcenter.
• Design Review: Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and fabrication economy. Ensure compliance with applicable GD&T standards.
• Collaboration: Liaise with engineering disciplines, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams. Assist with vendor interactions as needed.
• Drawing Revision: Revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards.
• Supervision: May supervise and direct staff as required.
• Additional Responsibilities: Support additional duties as assigned and manage related tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
• 2-year technical degree in Drafting or Engineering, with 10 years of directly related experience, or
• BS in Engineering with 7 years of related experience.
• Experience:
• Proficiency with Siemens NX 12 and Teamcenter.
• Extensive experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Familiarity with welding design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1 (AWS CWI certification preferred).
• Experience with DoD programs and working knowledge of standard manufacturing processes (CNC Mill/Lathe).
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and Mil-Standard 100 is preferred.
• Skills & Certifications:
• Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining DoD security clearance.
• GDTP Professional Certification (preferred).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
