Roberts Polypro is seeking a talented person for the Tool and Die Technician position. This position will report to the Operations Manager and will be located on-site in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintain all plastics production tooling used for stamping and injection molding, including progressive dies, extrusion dies, injection molds, and ancillary part/scrap chutes.
- Follow and continue to develop the tooling preventive maintenance program and procedures.
- Investigate and remedy production issues related to tooling.
- Lays out, machines, fits, assembles, and finishes metal parts to make and repair dies for stamping plastic products and metal molds for injection molding of plastic products, analyzing specifications, and applying knowledge of die and mold design and construction
- Studies blueprints of product and die or mold, and computes specifications, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and die cutting or plastic molding processes and machinery.
- Plan sequence of operations, visualizing shape of dies or mold in reverse of product.
- Design, fabricate, and test jigs and fixtures used for die setup, grinding, and quality purposes.
- Assist in setup and troubleshooting of stamping presses and injection molding machines.
- Assemble die or mold, using hand tools.
- Verifies dimensions, using calipers, planer gauges, and dial indicators.
- 3 years of relevant tool and die experience for stamping and injection molding
- Possess good analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress as well as be efficient, detail-oriented, with good follow-up skills.
- Ability to safely and accurately operate manual milling machine, lathe, drill press, band saw, and surface grinding equipment.
- Experience with CNC machining and CAM programming
- Proficient with using precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as strong math skills
- Self-managing/responsible, have an energetic and personable demeanor, be self-motivated
- Excellent time management skills with ability to estimate length of time required to complete projects.
- Flexible and dedicated to doing what it takes to get the job done.
- Forklift and gantry crane certified.
