A leading contract manufacturer of wire and cable harness solutions for the defense and aerospace industry, has an immediate opening for a Cost and Bidding Technician.
The Cost and Bidding Tech will be working within a team to help prepare cost estimates to assist management in generating new business and retain existing customers. This position will be required to undertake a detailed analysis of project needs in materials pricing, labor performance, and other production requirements. Meeting these project needs may require utilization of drawings, blueprints, and a general knowledge of the manufacturing.
The position requires an employee to be a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to accept directions and follow through with little supervision. The position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Good communication skills are vital as well as an aptitude for excelling within the position. You’ll be interacting with outside suppliers, other employees within the bidding scope, and on occasion Management. Good organizational skills and acute attention to detail are a must for this position. The holder of this position must have and maintain good attendance. Growth opportunities are available.
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, particularly the costing of components, is preferred not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
