Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and goals.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for individuals in your care.
- Engage clients in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote their development and well-being.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents that occur during shifts.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in caregiving, including CPR when necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Previous experience in caregiving or home care settings is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
