Job Summary
As the director of Promise Christian Preschool, you will lead the teachers and students while handing all administrative tasks for running the school. You’ll be expected to use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills, to manage the preschool so as to promote the spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development of each child and teacher.
Qualifications
- Holds a bachelor's degree, with a major emphasis in early childhood education/child development from an accredited college or university or the equivalent thereof
- Must be director qualified according to Colorado state regulations or enrolled to meet state qualifications
- Meet state qualifications for being Lead Teacher qualified
- At least three years of successful experience as a preschool classroom teacher
- Has a positive & enthusiastic mindset
- Ability to work with others and foster a team
- Non-profit experience desired
- Experience with Brightwheel and Quickbooks preferred
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience desired
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications - the governing Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Committed growing disciple of Jesus with an understanding of Christian education in the preschool environment
- Preferably be a member of or faithfully attend a Bible-based church.
Job Responsibilities
- Recruits, hires, and supervises staff.
- Creates job descriptions, conducts performance reviews, and provides professional development.
- Recommends staff re-employment, non-renewal, and dismissals to the Board.
- Fosters a positive staff culture.
- Assists with payroll.
Instructional Management
- Develops, implements, and evaluates curriculum.
- Establishes instructional priorities and provides necessary resources.
- Oversees safety drills.
Child Management
- Ensures children's growth and development in all areas.
- Maintains accurate student records.
- Manages admissions and organizes school events.
Governing Board Relations
- Attends Board meetings and provides feedback.
- Implements Board policies and assists in policy development.
- Maintains regular communication with the Board.
Business Management
- Develops and manages the annual budget.
- Oversees billing and handles delinquent accounts.
- Manages preschool supplies and equipment.
- Arranges for necessary inspections and ensures compliance with state regulations.
- Seeks grant funding and explores ways to increase enrollment.
Parent/Community Relations
- Maintains regular communication with parents.
- Organizes parent volunteers and education opportunities.
- Fosters community involvement.
Program Requirements
- Maintains teacher-student ratios and on-site presence.
- Plans and implements age-appropriate daily programs.
- Communicates with parents and schedules conferences.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment.
- Adheres to child abuse reporting requirements and health and safety protocols.
- Attends Board meetings and completes ongoing education.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
