Job Description: Promofect, a growing start-up in the promotional products industry, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller & Office Manager to join our team in our new office in Mahwah, NJ. This pivotal role requires a versatile professional adept in accounting, human resources, and office management to support our expanding operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Conduct daily revenue and cost reporting with a focus on cost accounting.
- Manage the full month-end close process, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and handle multi-state sales tax filings.
- Process payroll through FingerCheck, ensuring adherence to state regulations.
- Prepare and file 1099s, collect W-9s, and manage year-end financial processes.
- Human Resources:
- Lead HR functions, including onboarding new employees and contractors.
- Administer employee benefits, manage insurance policies, and maintain personnel records.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Office Management:
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure a productive work environment.
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate company events and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably within small to mid-sized U.S. businesses.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, Google Docs, and familiarity with platforms like Printavo and Inksoft.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multi-state sales tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in HR functions and office management is highly desirable.
