Description

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and LiveNation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.

Proof of the Pudding, operator of COTA Concessions, is looking for team members that will be responsible for various concessions operations at COTA’s many events. The ideal candidate has experience leading a concessions team, is a hands-on worker, and has strong understanding of concessions operations and equipment.

essential duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple concessions outlets during an event, leading the concessions hourly employees in your designated zone, being the point person to order more product and food supplies
  • Ability to work with new team members week-to-week to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage personnel for multiple concession stands ensuring hot food is hot, cold beverage is cold, and speed of service while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Delegate tasks in an upbeat and courteous manner.
  • Following up with Concession Stand Leads and team members, to coach them on-the-job while understanding there is not a one-size-fits-all method.
  • Communicate inventory needs to warehouse for transport as needed.
  • Troubleshoot POS system, Square, issues in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Oversee food preparation at the concession stands occurs while practicing and abiding by local and state food safety laws.
  • Checking with Concessions Lead to ensure the completion of cleaning & sanitizing checklists, time-temperature logs, inventory counts, cash management, and other functions.
  • Attending each event to ensure execution runs smoothly from the set-up to the break-down. 
  • Executing monthly inventories. 

 Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2 year experience leading a food service team, concessions leadership is preferred. 
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.

Specialized Qualifications:

  • Must have previous concessions experience with progressing responsibilities.
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond, providing excellent service to our customers.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via radio/walkie-talkie
  • Effective communication skills with both team members and guests.
  • Someone that is team oriented, courteous, can delegate tasks, and is firm in maintaining standards.
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates.  
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts.  

Work Environment 

The work environment for this position will work out of and report to Circuit of the Americas. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. This position will often move throughout the grounds and venue on different terrains and may work with kitchen equipment including food warmers, heat lamps, coolers, and more

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling throughout the stadium and location.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Must be able to lift up-to 30 pounds at times.

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive pay. $18-$22/hr starting.

  • Must be available to work the F1 race event days of 10/16-10/23
