The Role

Join the global corporate communications team and immerse yourself in a dynamic, creative environment where you’ll gain hands-on experience and mentorship from diverse industry experts in communications, social media, and public relations. Led by the Vice President of Corporate Communications based in London, this small but mighty international team drives positive awareness of the company through strategic media and influencer relations, a global thought leadership program, social media and employee advocacy, corporate awards, product announcements, media events, and other PR programs directed towards business, industry/trade, consumer, and technology media outlets. Each team member has a deep passion for cybersecurity, storytelling, and believes in fostering an inclusive culture that values every voice and drives industry-leading innovation.

Proofpoint is seeking a university student eager to explore a career in PR and communications to join our global corporate communications team within the Marketing organization. As a valued intern with guidance and support from the team, you will actively participate in the development and execution of functions that contribute to the external awareness of our corporate mission—protect people, defend data—and internal awareness of and engagement in our PR and social media advocacy programs. This may include special projects and key day-to-day duties such as

Social Media Program

• Assisting with the design and execution of our earned social media program
• Tracking social media engagement to identify high performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
• Performing social media marketing research and listening activities that monitor our brand, employees and ecosystem
• Supporting the management of Proofpoint’s employee social media advocacy program on our EveryoneSocial platform
• Developing new strategies and writing compelling copy for increased social media engagement and awareness across our B2B audience
• Assisting with photo editing and graphic creation that aligns with brand standards, acting as photographer whilst at in office events
  
  

PR Program

• Maintaining Proofpoint’s News Center on all global corporate webpages
• Preparing weekly digest emails sent to the global sales organization and executives
• Developing relationships with internal stakeholders and agency partners to advance projects, reports and campaigns
• Researching reputable industry awards and recognition programs to raise for consideration
  
  

Qualifications

• Creativity and curiosity You’re a fresh innovative thinker with an interest in solving challenges, trying new things, and storytelling
• Strong Communication skills As an outstanding writer and verbal communicator familiar with AP Style, you have the skills to craft compelling messages and collaborate seamlessly with others
• Adaptability Ready to dive into projects with minimal supervision while learning and growing with each new challenge
• Efficiency An understanding of how to effectively utilise AI tools such as ChatGPT, as well as to recommend to the team up and coming technologies and platforms for consideration
• Can-do mindset You’re a deadline focused team player who possesses a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  
  

Candidate Profile

You have the ability and interest to work full-time (a maximum of 38 hours/week) in our Draper, UT office on a hybrid schedule. You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA. This internship is scheduled to start in mid-May and run through end of August.
