What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Administrator position at Propell Credit Union?
The Loan Administrator is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting consumer requests and products within Credit Union and industry guidelines and is responsible for timely turnaround on applications as well as for performance of consumer loans in the portfolio with a high level of accuracy. Additionally, the LA supports the Member Business Lending function by assisting with the processing of MBL loan requests.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review credit applications for various types of consumer loans and analyze applicable information (credit reports, collateral valuation, legal documents, etc.) to render credit decisions in accordance with lending policies.
- Use discretionary judgment for credit decisions not conforming to lending policies and consult with Head of Retail Services.
- Proactively seek other credit union products or services for each credit applicant. Maximize cross sell and share of wallet opportunities with all members.
- Serves as a primary intermediary between the Commercial Loan Originator and the underwriting function and liaison to third party CUSO personnel.
- Contacts the prospective Member/Borrower and provides a punch list (Non-Real Estate or Real Estate Secured Commercial Loan Checklist) of what is needed to submit the loan request to underwriting and assists with the collection of required documents.
- Prepares loan submissions to be formally submitted to underwriting function, including contracted third-party service providers.
- Enters required loan set-up data in MBL computer systems. Upload appropriate documentation as needed.
- Discusses credit transaction with CCO prior to underwriting submission, recommending revisions as needed.
- Assist in gathering reports/documentation for 3rd party audits.
- Assist with completing annual HMDA Report Data.
- Meet with credit union membership to facilitate signing of all necessary loan documentation for disbursement.
- Generates loan documentation necessary for closing and disbursement process.
- Respond to and resolve MSR inquiries in a timely manner and facilitate assistance from other staff as appropriate.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the Credit Unions policies and procedures as well as regulations and compliance, both state and federal. Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training. Adheres to Credit Unions service standards and values.
- Represent the Credit Union in a professional and friendly manner, both internally and within the community.

- BS or BA degree, or appropriate experience may be substituted.
- Three years’ experience in banking with consumer lending at credit union or community bank required.
- Knowledge of Delaware and Chester County PA and surrounding markets required.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An individual in this position is required to interact regularly with all credit union employees and external parties such as members, realtors, business leaders, title agents etc.- interpersonal skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Individual in the position must be performance driven and capable of training others.
- Analytical thinking required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
