Job Overview:
As an In-Room Dining Server, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional personalized, efficient, and seamless dining experiences to guests within the comfort and privacy of their rooms or suites. Reporting to the In-Room Dining Manager, you will provide warm and welcoming service while accurately taking orders, addressing guest inquiries, and coordinating with the kitchen for timely delivery of orders.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide a warm and welcoming presence while delivering personalized and attentive service to all guests.
  • Accurately take guest orders, answer menu questions, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure accurate preparation and organization of orders, conveying all special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergen information to the kitchen.
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure timely delivery of orders to guest rooms while maintaining food presentation and quality.
  • Suggest additional items, beverages, or menu upgrades to enhance the guest's dining experience and increase revenue.
  • Record all orders and transactions accurately into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain detailed records of guest preferences, special requests, and feedback for personalized service during subsequent visits.
  • Adhere to the hotel's service standards and etiquette to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked in-room dining area, ready for service at all times.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as culinary and guest relations, to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of orders.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards to ensure cleanliness and guest safety.
  • Handle and deliver food and beverages using proper hygiene and safety practices.
  • Solicit guest feedback and respond professionally with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of in-room dining equipment and amenities, ensuring they are properly maintained and stocked.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure guest rooms are prepared for in-room dining service and maintained according to hotel standards.
  • Collaborate with the concierge team to provide personalized dining recommendations and services to guests.
  • Assist guests with special requests, including arranging for celebrations or special occasions in-room.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to expand knowledge and skills in other areas of hotel operations.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a confined space and navigating guest corridors.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Proficiency in using technology, such as POS systems and tablets, for order processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse guests.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Education & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • TABC and Food Handler’s certificate.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
