This extensive renovation will preserve the landmark’s 1940 art deco distinction and authentic charm while modernizing interiors from top to bottom — all embracing the rich heritage originally crafted by Morris Lapidus and Igor Polevitzky, two of the most celebrated Art Deco architects of the mid-twentieth century.
The Shelborne will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Turndown Attendant to provide an exceptional evening experience for our guests. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will ensure that guest rooms are thoughtfully prepared for the night, creating a welcoming and luxurious ambiance in alignment with The Shelborne’s elevated standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Turndown Service
Prepare guest rooms for the evening by performing turndown service, which includes refreshing linens, fluffing pillows and adjusting lighting
- Place luxury amenities, such as chocolates, aromatherapy and personalized notes, according to hotel standards
Ensure all room details align with the hotel’s brand and ambiance, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere
Guest Experience & Attention to Detail
Anticipate and address guest preferences, such as adjusting room temperature or preparing slippers and robes
- Maintain the highest level of discretion and professionalism while entering guest rooms
Accommodate special requests for turndown service, including additional towels, pillows or evening refreshments
Housekeeping & Cleanliness
Replenish toiletries, water bottles and in-room amenities as needed
- Ensure all furniture, surfaces and decorative elements are neatly arranged
Report any maintenance issues, missing items, or damages to the housekeeping or engineering team
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure guest satisfaction
- Relay guest preferences and special requests to the appropriate departments
Maintain a strong knowledge of hotel services, room features and VIP arrivals
Qualifications:
Previous experience in luxury hospitality, housekeeping or a similar role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences
- Ability to work evening shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and discreetly in guest spaces
Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift moderate weights during shifts
