Overview
The Desktop Support Analyst is a dual administrative and technical support position that is the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance. Employees in this classification function as a liaison to the Information Services (IS) Division and in-house staff, the public, vendors, and governmental offices, to identify and respond to all incoming client needs. The technical work involves responding to or distributing IS service requests and providing office-wide end-user technical support either in-person, over the phone, or through the use of remote desktop tools.
The administrative work includes maintaining an accurate IS asset inventory, aiding with application testing, user feedback, and usernames/passwords, responding to website and IS Support inquiries, and aiding in the procurement process including budgeting, purchase order requests, and receipt of purchased items. A technical supervisor provides direction and supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of sixty (60) semester credits including fifteen (15) semester credits in a computer-related field and six (6) months of relevant experience is required, or completion of a vocational or trade school program and six months (6) of relevant experience; or high school diploma or GED and twelve (12) months of relevant experiences is required.
- Relevant experience as referenced herein includes identifying and responding to issues/requests and delivering excellent client experiences, quickly and efficiently; procurement processing; task/ticket management; asset inventory management; and knowledge of basic technical support procedures for computer hardware and software issues.
- Preferences: Understanding of Property Appraiser calendar and statutory requirements, technical writing and documentation experience, portfolio demonstrating outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent time-management and organizational skills are highly preferred.
- Relevant work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
