What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Associate position at Proprio?
Human Resources Associate (Full-time Hybrid-Seattle, Medical Device/Data)
Who We Are:
Proprio advances surgery with its proprietary platform that combines artificial intelligence, computer vision, and augmented reality. Our flagship product, the Paradigm system, is an advanced surgical navigation system providing vital information that integrates pre-operative imaging and planning with intraoperative performance data. This unique longitudinal dataset offers significant value to the entire surgical ecosystem.
At Proprio, you'll have the opportunity to shape our growing company, collaborate across diverse
teams, and contribute to our evolving culture. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and uphold a
strong sense of ethics and social responsibility. Our team partners with leading medical and research institutions and boasts extensive expertise in neurosurgery, medical devices, entrepreneurship, robotics, and computer vision.
What We Are Looking For:
● Be Bold: You know that your work matters - patients’ lives are in our metaphorical hands -
and that gives you the energy to lean in and give your all, even when it gets hard or that
means pushing beyond conventional wisdom and known possibilities, at the risk of failure.
● Evolve Relentlessly: You are an entrepreneur with a growth mindset who sees opportunity
everywhere. To you, the word NO, simply means Next Option. You are comfortable with
ambiguity and are not only change tolerating, but change seeking. You are comfortable living
in the grey, see whitespace everywhere and can see around corners. You welcome friction
and mistakes as compost for your growth, and greet adversity as something to further develop
your resilience. You are always re-thinking the status quo, including within yourself and your
own intellectual, emotional and social development.
● Sweat the Right Details: You know that details matter in our business and at our stage of
growth. You understand that some details always matter because we have patients’ lives in
our hands and are in a highly regulated, highly competitive industry.
● Take Ownership: You are accountable, take ownership and win as a team. You are a
self-starter and self reliant, but know that you are not an island of one. You take your work to
the finish line, including whenever it means helping our colleagues over the finish line with
you. Secure enough in yourself and the culture of teamwork to know that you can ask for help,
no matter the situation. You see the problem or issue as your own and take responsibility for
the quality of outcomes, not just effort.
In this role, you will:
● Accurately process semi-monthly/bi-weekly payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with
all relevant laws and company policies.
● Manage employee timekeeping, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments
● Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly.
● Maintain employee records and HRIS systems with up-to-date information
● Assist in onboarding new employees, ensuring payroll and benefits enrollment are seamless.
● Collaborate with finance and HR teams to support reporting, audits, and compliance.
● Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee questions, and vendor
coordination.
● Assist with employee relations matters, including policy questions and communication.
● Participate in projects aimed at improving HR processes, systems, and engagement
initiatives.
● Contribute to HR metrics reporting and identifying process improvements.
About you
● Bachelor's Degree
● Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.) and basic knowledge of
federal/state payroll regulations.
● High attention to detail and accuracy.
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information.
● Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or Google Workspace
● Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
● Eagerness to take on new responsibilities and learn across HR functions
Proprio offers its employees a generous range of compensation and benefits.
● Salary Range: $80K-$110K: Our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in
the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill,
experience, training, external market factors, and internal equity.
● Generous, early-stage stock options
● Unlimited PTO (Paid Time Off) and paid sick leave
● Paid family and medical leave, including paid parental leave
● 10 paid holidays
● Fully covered medical, dental and vision benefits for employees, and 50% of spouse/domestic
partner and dependent premiums
● Company sponsored 401(k) with a match
● Life and long-term disability coverage
● Employee assistance program
● Commuter benefits
● Wellness benefits and free, on-site massage.
● Fully stocked kitchen and break areas
● Pet friendly work environment
