AR-Staff Accountant

We’re seeking a Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant for a temporary-to-hire opportunity with a mission-driven organization. This role offers a great chance to transition into a permanent position while gaining valuable experience and making an impact.
What You’ll Do :
As an AR-Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in managing the organization’s financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various functions. Your responsibilities will include :
- Processing daily cash receipts, coding transactions, and making bank deposits.
- Managing Salesforce donation batches to ensure proper income classification.
- Assisting with month-end close, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting audit preparation, year-end processing, and filing reports such as 1099s.
- Preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger and subsidiary ledgers in Sage Intacct.
- Managing vendor records and ensuring compliance with property tax and sales tax filings.
- Cross-training with other accounting team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assisting with financial reporting, analysis, and other projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For :
The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You’ll need :
2 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience is a plus!)
Experience with Sage Intacct and Salesforce (preferred but not required)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience)
