About:
Our client in Marin County is seeking a skilled Seasonal Tax Preparer to join their team for the current tax season. They are a reputable tax preparation firm dedicated to providing exceptional tax services to individuals, small businesses, and organizations. They pride themselves on accuracy, efficiency, and excellent client service. This is a part-time position requiring someone to work in office Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday, 8 hours each day.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual (1040), small business (1120, 1120S, 1065), and other tax returns using Lacerte tax software.
- Review client financial documents to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
- Conduct initial consultations with clients to gather necessary tax-related information.
- Identify potential deductions and credits to minimize tax liability while complying with tax regulations.
- Address client questions and concerns regarding tax preparation and filing.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations relevant to clients’ needs.
- Collaborate with team members and assist with troubleshooting tax software issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a tax preparer, preferably in a seasonal or temporary role.
- Proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software is required.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines during the busy tax season.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding client service.
- EA certification is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Schedule:
- This is a seasonal role from February through April.
- Flexible scheduling with the possibility of overtime during peak weeks.
Compensation:
· $30-45/hr DOE
Salary : $30 - $45
