The Associate Director of Security Operations and Threat Management will report to the Information Security Officer and lead cyber security operations within the Proskauer information security program. This role will manage a team responsible for event handling, threat modeling, and analysis, working to protect the Firm enterprise and serve as a subject matter expert with extensive knowledge of a wide range of cybersecurity threats, analysis, and remediation practices.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing a team of information security engineers and analysts to ensure the security and availability of the Firm’s technology systems and services.
- Leading analysis across a wide range of tools and platforms used to continuously monitor the full enterprise technology environment including network, endpoint, application, and Cloud.
- Leading incident investigations during triage and containment efforts required to maintain the integrity and security of enterprise-wide systems and networks.
- Overseeing hunting, detection, tool engineering, and triage automation functions.
- Analyzing information systems utilizing various cybersecurity techniques and tools to aid in the detection and prevention of malicious activities across all threat vectors.
- Developing custom tools via scripting languages (i.e., Python, Powershell).
- Applying Cyber Threat Intelligence through enrichment, correlation, and attribution.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends and developments in cybersecurity.
- Monitoring and assessing security threats, and continuously adjusting strategies to mitigate evolving risks.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to other teams as needed.
- Creating reports and documents to track incident progress and review results.
- Ensuring the compliance of all applications, systems, and network infrastructure with application security policies, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in or supporting a professional services firm
- Extensive knowledge of leading security control, monitoring, and analysis technologies
- Experience working in an environment that adheres to internationally recognized standards such as SOC2, ISO27001
- Extensive experience mentoring and developing junior and senior talent in both technical and soft skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading security operations, threat intelligence programs, and incident response investigations
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to communicate security risks to a non-technical audience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Security certification such as GCIH, GREM, GNFA, GCFA
This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
