Overview:
The position of a podium attendant at Prospect Airport Services involves several responsibilities, which can be both rewarding and demanding. Here are some key points about the job;
- Assisting Passengers with Disabilities: The primary role of a podium attendant is to provide assistance to airline passengers with disabilities. This includes passengers in wheelchairs, as well as those with hearing or visual impairments. The attendant should be empathetic, patient, and knowledgeable about how to best assist different types of passengers.
- Check-In and Documentation: Podium attendants are responsible for checking in passengers in need of assistance at dedicated waiting areas. This involves recording essential passenger information like names, flight details, and check-in times. Accurate documentation is crucial for ensuring smooth assistance.
- Timely Assistance: It's essential to ensure that passengers with disabilities are assisted in a timely manner. This requires good time management and coordination with wheelchair agents and other airport staff to ensure passengers are promptly taken through security and to their departing flights.
- Wheelchair Management: The podium attendant is also responsible for overseeing the management of wheelchairs. This includes making sure wheelchairs are regularly returned to the counter and ensuring that there are enough chairs available for passenger use. Maintenance and cleanliness of wheelchairs may also be part of the responsibilities.
Available Shift(s): Wednesday - Saturday, 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM.
