Role and Responsibilities:
Prospect Capital is seeking a Vice President, Institutional Product & Strategy to work closely with our capital raising team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our institutional relationships and product positioning. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in private credit and alternative investments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop deep expertise in Prospect Capital’s fund offerings, understanding the nuances of each product and effectively conveying this information in both verbal and written formats.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including compliance, legal, and investment to ensure all marketing materials and investor communications meet regulatory standards, accurately represent fund strategies, and reflect up-to-date product information
- Create and manage a variety of investor and marketing materials, including research reports, one-pagers, marketing decks, video series, and press releases, ensuring each piece effectively communicates fund insights, strategy updates, and performance in a compelling and accessible format.
- Coordinate responses to investor requests, including due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), requests for proposal (RFPs), and other ad hoc information requests.
- Lead and support ad-hoc projects as needed, adapting to shifting priorities and providing timely solutions to meet the evolving needs of the institutional fundraising team.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) are a plus.
- 5 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, or related financial services, ideally with exposure to private credit or alternative investments.
- Strong understanding of investment products, including private credit, private equity, or other alternative asset classes; ability to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of specific funds and strategies.
- Proficient in financial analysis, with the ability to interpret performance data and portfolio metrics and communicate them effectively to clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience creating client-facing materials and presenting complex information clearly.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially when creating content, managing multiple deliverables, and ensuring compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, PitchBook) and CRM systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with various internal teams, such as legal, compliance, and marketing, to ensure cohesive and compliant product communications.
- Experience in asset management positioning institutional funds to investors and organizing marketing campaigns.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $215,000 plus an annual discretionary performance-based bonus. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and performance.
