JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily function of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
DUTIES:
- Recruits, interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Enforces policies and procedures, ensures compliance with local and national regulations and all employment laws
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations
- Payroll processing through third party administrator (ADP)
- Personnel Record Maintenance – Various spreadsheets and hard copy files
- Benefit Administration – Negotiate benefits, sign up eligible employees (new hire and open enrollment) and process qualifying events
- Administer leave of absence – Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, COBRA and FMLA.
- Answer / Redirect employee questions on benefits
- Reconcile and code monthly benefit invoices
- Respond to employee related inquiries. - Verification of employment, unemployment and worker’s compensation

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
· At least one year of human resource management experience preferred
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
