What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grade 1 Teacher for Summer Learning Program position at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School?
Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is looking for a qualified Grade 1 teacher to provide math and literacy support to a small group of rising 1st graders (about 10 students) in our July Summer Learning Program.
The student program will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday - Thursday from July 7- July 31. Teacher hours will be from 7:50 am to 1:00 pm (planning time included). The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering effective math and literacy instruction for a group of 10 students over the course of the morning, with the support of an associate teacher. The teacher will also run a homeroom daily from 8:00-8:30 am, including a brief morning meeting, and will oversee snack, lunch and dismissal routines.
Orientation dates:
- (2) 90-minute virtual sessions, June dates TBD
- (1) In-person session, 8:00 - 3:30, June 23rd
- Demonstrated track record of effective small group math and literacy instruction
- Ability to analyze student learning data collected from daily instructional work, in order to monitor progress and adapt teaching
- Ability to develop positive and supportive relationships with students
- Ability to communicate with families about progress
- Understanding of the relevant literacy and math standards and practices, and their connection to standards in previous grade levels
- Experience with the FOCUS on Early Learning Curriculum
