Scope of Work:
The Forklift Material Handler for Components is responsible for operating forklifts to move and manage heavy materials, including lumber, OSB, roof trusses, floor trusses, and engineered wood products (EWP) within our yard and production areas. Your efforts will be vital in ensuring materials are properly stored, organized, and efficiently delivered to their next destination. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality production processes and timely delivery, working closely with the manufacturing and sales teams to uphold our core values while fostering a customer-obsessed culture of growth and continuous improvement.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Material Handling
Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to transport heavy materials (lumber, OSB, roof trusses, floor trusses, and engineered wood products) to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Inventory Management
Assist with inventory tracking, ensuring materials are properly labeled, counted, and stored in their designated areas. Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory updates.
- Loading/Unloading
Load and unload materials from trucks and storage containers, ensuring proper handling and safe transport of oversized or bulky items such as trusses and large lumber bundles.
- Organization & Storage
Ensure that materials are neatly stacked and stored safely, preventing damage and maximizing warehouse space.
- Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures, including the proper handling of heavy and hazardous materials. Follow all warehouse safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaboration
Work closely with other team members, including warehouse staff and production personnel, to ensure timely delivery of materials to the appropriate areas.
- Equipment Maintenance
Regularly inspect the forklift and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2yrs Minimum Forklift Experience
- Heavy Lifting: ability to manually lift up to 70lbs
- Familiarity with wood products and their handling requirements
- Adaptability, Familiarity with safety standards, and experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to handle demanding situations calmly and professionally, to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative work atmosphere. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
- An outdoor environment with standard working hours may require occasional overtime or flexible hours based on organizational needs. This is a fast-paced atmosphere, tasks and requests can come in rapidly, requiring quick responses and efficient multitasking.
- Constant movement may be required, frequently moving between different areas of the yard and production facility.
- Demands may include agility, efficiency, and resilience. Employee should be adept at managing a dynamic workload, collaborating effectively, and maintaining high energy levels while using advanced technology and handling frequent interactions with customers and colleagues.
