Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Installation Manager to lead and oversee the installation of fire alarm systems across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing installation teams, ensuring the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with local, state, and national fire codes. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. As the Installation Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring safety protocols, and delivering excellent customer service throughout the installation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the fire alarm installation department, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead, train, and supervise installation teams, providing guidance, support, and ensuring team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure clear communication and project timelines are met.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and fire alarm system designs to ensure proper installation practices and compliance with fire codes.
- Schedule and allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, for each installation project.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, ensure quality control, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation.
- Ensure that all fire alarm systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications and state/local regulations.
- Manage and resolve any challenges or conflicts that arise on job sites to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate project records, including installation schedules, team progress reports, and inventory management.
- Ensure all installations are properly tested, commissioned, and meet the required codes and standards before final inspection and client handover.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development for installation technicians, encouraging skills advancement and safety practices.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest fire alarm technologies, codes, and industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
Requirements:
- NICET Level III
- State of Hawaii Fire Alarm System Level 2 certification or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in the fire alarm industry
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, installation procedures, and relevant fire codes and regulations.
- Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of technicians.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Knowledge of various fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Simplex, Autocall, FCI, and others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with low-voltage wiring and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with security systems integration (CCTV, access control).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
