Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of fire alarm system projects, ensuring they meet all client specifications, deadlines, and regulatory requirements. As a Project Manager, you will lead a team of technicians and work closely with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are adhered to at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete lifecycle of fire alarm system projects, from initial design and estimation to installation and final inspection.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial limits.
- Oversee the scheduling of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.
- Conduct site evaluations and walks to assess project needs, provide recommendations, and resolve issues.
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians during project installation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout the duration of the project.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential delays or problems.
- Review and approve project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients, providing regular updates on project status, budgets, and timelines.
- Ensure all fire alarm systems are tested and properly commissioned before handover to the client.
- Prepare and deliver post-project reports and customer satisfaction surveys.
Requirements:
- NICET Level III
- State of Hawaii Fire Alarm System Level 2 certification.
- 5 years of experience in fire alarm systems or related fields, with at least 2 years in a managerial or project management role.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and relevant local, state, and national fire codes.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics.
- Experience working with various fire alarm systems, such as Notifier, Simplex, and Autocall.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively with clients and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certifications and security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring and electrical systems.
- Experience working with security systems and integration (CCTV, access control).
