POSITION PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Assistant Production Supervisor position is to assist the Production Supervisor with scheduling, coordinating daily activities, relief duties, new employee training, and data collection and verification. By assisting the Production Supervisor in overseeing production activities, this position will provide support in providing a consistent, quality product, and customer satisfaction. This position will help to foster compliance with all GMP and safety programs and policies to support the making of quality product and developing a positive work environment for all employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
- Actively involved in the attainment of all operational goals to provide the best possible conversion cost to our customers.
- Oversee the application of all quality goals to ensure product quality and food safety standards are met to reduce/eliminate risk to the organization
- Work hand in hand with safety department to identify and evaluate potential risks and ensure the protection of the employees and other individuals while minimizing the organizations exposure to loss and liability.
- Assist with employee training and building overall line depth
- This position has moderate supervisory responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: production floor – extreme hot/cold temperatures, loud/noisy, adequate lighting as found in a typical manufacturing environment.
