Position Summary
This position has responsibility for Payroll and supports other Finance functions as needed, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Essential Functions

- Payroll
- Prepare weekly/semi-monthly payroll for timely and accurate payment for 200 employees, including timecard review for hourly employees
- Update, terminate and place employees on leave as needed
- Benefit deduction updates as needed
- Off-cycle payroll adjustments as needed
- Prepare weekly/semi-monthly payroll journal entries
- Prepare month-end payroll journal entries
- Upload Benefits Report for Flex Spending and Dependent Care
- Approve and Submit 401k Upload
- Supports VP of Finance and HR with internal and external audits as it relates to payroll functions (i.e. 401k, E&Y, JSOX, Proterial)
- Perform other job-related duties as requested or assigned
- Maintain and keep payroll files up to date
- Maintain employees’ files within ADP to ensure accuracy
- Accounts Payable - Backup
- Support AP Specialist and act as backup
- Accounts Receivable - Backup
- Daily application of payments, credits and free text invoices
- General
- Assists financial leadership with discrepancies as well as new initiatives
- Organizes, sorts and files documents and reports regularly
- Adheres to operating procedures and compliance guidelines including federal and state laws and regulations
- Support, subscribe to and practice, 5S, JIT and Process Improvement activities
- Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience, ideally in Accounting or Business
- In-depth understanding of ADP WorkforceNow, with Enhanced Time & Attendance preferred
- 2 years’ experience working in payroll and accounting
- Work well within a team environment and ability to act independently
- Proficiency using Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and troubleshoot activities
- Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using sound judgment consistent with policies and practices
Physical Demands
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment, including PC
- Light lifting and carrying of files, supplies, etc.
- Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and other employees via phone or in person
- Body motor skills sufficient to move from one office location to another
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at times.
