As the DON, you will provide leadership and support to our nursing team while ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in behavioral health and nursing leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the organization's philosophy of care, ensuring a compassionate and patient-focused environment.
- Supervise and lead the nursing management team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, referral sources, and employees to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Oversee patient care, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and high standards of care.
- Prepare monthly reports and maintain compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans for patients with complex needs, including chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric conditions.
- Postgraduate degree in Nursing or a related field, or equivalent experience and qualifications; or a written plan to obtain these qualifications.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice nursing by the State Board of Nursing.
- CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- Previous experience in psychiatric healthcare, particularly with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients, is preferred.
- Strong experience in patient assessments, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or similar entities.
- Prior leadership experience in a behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Prior experience in behavioral health/psychiatric care preferred.
- Leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric setting is a plus.
