What are the responsibilities and job description for the Provecho Host/Hostess position at Provecho Latin Provisions?
We are looking for a Host/Food Expeditor to support our wait and kitchen staff. If you enjoy a fast-paced way of working and want to kickstart your career in the hospitality industry, we’d like to meet you. We are looking for someone with open availability including evenings, holidays and weekends.
The host is responsible for welcoming customers through our front doors. Their duties include but are not limited to, maintaining a waitlist of patrons during service and seating those guests to their designated tables. Our hosts are also responsible or accepting phone calls and assisting guests with questions or placing carryout orders. The Host will also be cross trained for the position of Food Expeditor. When expediting food you are responsible for insuring food goes out looking perfect and is ran to the correct guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
- Taking table reservations
- Assisting guests in placing carry out orders
- Boxing and bagging carry out orders
- Seating guests at their table
- Checking food in the service window and making sure it is correct before it goes out to the guests.
- Remove dirty utensils and replenish, as needed
- Clean and reset tables after guests leave
- Maintain health and safety regulations at all kitchen and dining areas
Skills
Work experience as a Host, Food Expeditor or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus.
- Must be able to speak and socialize with guests in a professional manor.
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
