Headquartered in Massachusetts, our clinical team is made up of highly experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) proficient in using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to change the lives of children and teens with ASD and their families.
BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN - ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The role of the Behavior Technician is to provide 1:1 direct services to clients with an Autism Spectrum Disorder in the home, school, or clinical setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The Behavior Technician is responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans under the close ongoing supervision of a BCBA.
- Providing one-on-one support to individuals to promote skill development and independence
- Implementation of all teaching plans and programs developed by the supervising BCBA
- Collection of data for each goal/objective during each session or as frequently as defined in the ABA treatment plan
- Follow behavior plans as designed by the supervising BCBA
- Act as an ambassador for Proven Behavior Solutions and the industry; maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with client’s caregiver(s)
- Communicate any clinical or family concerns to immediate supervisor in a timely manner
- Participate in regular staff training
- Attendance at monthly team and staff meetings
- Completion of daily client notes
BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN - PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Some education in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year cumulative experience with Applied Behavior Analysis in a direct service, training, or school-based setting; and/or experience working with children or the special needs population under age 22
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care
- Strong organizational skills
BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN - WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to occasionally lift children, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Occasionally required to climb or balance
