What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage state and local income/business tax compliance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Oversee the preparation and review of multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Research and analyze state and local tax issues, staying ahead of regulatory changes to provide clients with proactive tax planning strategies.
- Manage large-scale state tax notice and refund processes, ensuring compliance and minimizing exposure.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff and senior accountants, fostering professional development within the team.
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients to identify tax savings opportunities and drive business growth.
- 4-7 years of relevant tax experience in State and Local Tax (SALT).
- Background in public accounting, ideally from a Big 4 or top 30 firm.
- CPA license required (or actively pursuing for Manager level).
- Experience working with public company engagements and pass-through entities.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor junior team members.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Competitive Compensation: $140K - $180K base salary, plus discretionary bonuses and annual raises.
