What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Support Associate (Part-time) position at Proverbs 31 Ministries?

General Purpose of Position 


This role will help the ministry deliver Customer Support Services both internally and externally in a way that achieves customer satisfaction, meets quality standards, and represents the values of Proverbs 31 Ministries. The Customer Support Associate will assist with the effective delivery of biblical content fulfilling the vision of Proverbs 31 mInistries to eradicate biblical poverty. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 


  • Respond to customer service inquiries through various means of communication, including P31’s ticketing system, chat and phone support 
  • Assign customer service tickets to other departments 
  • Process inventory that has been returned or damaged 
  • Complete various tasks within the e-commerce platform 
  • Submit orders in the inventory management system 
  • Submit mailing requests as needed 
  • Provide Help Scout training to new employees and provide ongoing support
  • Complete various reports for the Sr. Manager of Operations 
  • Assist the Sr. Manager of Operations with special projects
  • Cover the front desk 2 hours per week
  • Cross-train within the Operations department to assist when needed 
  • Other duties as assigned 


Skills, Experience, and Proficiencies


  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of customer support experience 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • An aptitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques
  • Curiosity and a proactive approach to investigating customer inquiries to provide thorough and accurate solutions
  • Ability to tailor support to each customer's unique needs demonstrating empathy and understanding
  • Capacity to ask insightful questions to uncover underlying customer concerns
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Dedication to delivering excellent customer service
  • Team-oriented and enjoy service-oriented work
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and customer needs
  • Successful candidates must be highly motivated, willing to take initiative, have a positive attitude, and exhibit a strong work ethic
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
