Job Title: Cash Applications Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office
We are seeking a highly motivated Cash Applications Specialist to join Providence Anesthesiology Associates (PAA). The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and posting insurance and patient payments in a timely manner, auditing claims paid by insurance carriers, and ensuring the accuracy of payments. The Cash Applications Specialist will also assist intra-departmental staff to resolve accounts and perform daily bank deposits. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Process and post insurance and patient payments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of payments and addressing any discrepancies.
- Audit claims paid by insurance carriers to verify correct payment and review expected payment performance to identify any discrepancies.
- Assist intra-departmental staff in resolving accounts and collaborating on identifying and addressing payment issues.
- Perform daily bank deposits, ensuring proper reconciliation with payments and accurate financial records.
- Review account histories to identify credit balances for patients or insurance and initiate refund requests, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Requirements:
• High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred
• Over one (1 ) year of experience in healthcare billing is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to producing quality work
• Proficiency with medical billing software systems
