Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff promptly.
- Provide support in memory care and rehabilitation exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assist with catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as needed.
- Engage with patients to provide emotional support and companionship, particularly in geriatrics and pediatrics settings.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans based on each patient’s needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and care provided.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in memory care, geriatrics, or pediatrics.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding patient needs effectively.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and perform tasks that may require lifting or standing for extended periods.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent training is a plus but not mandatory.
