Responsibilities
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. This role involves caring for patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment within the operating room.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and available.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to conduct preoperative assessments and develop care plans.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating their needs, handing them instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patient vitals and surgical sites, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
- Provide post-operative care and instructions, educating patients and families on recovery processes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting all surgical interventions and postoperative care.
- Comply with all hospital policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient safety.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Previous acute care hospital experience; preferred.
- Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
