What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Special Projects for Turnaround Initiatives and Organizational Improvement position at Providence School District?
The Director of Special Projects for Turnaround Initiatives and Organizational Improvement will work closely with the Senior Advisor to the Superintendent, members of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and other divisions and departments across the Providence Public School District to transform school and District processes in service of accelerated student achievement.
The Director of Special Projects for Turnaround Initiatives and Organizational Improvement is charged with the progress-monitoring of high priority District projects and management of timelines as they relate to internal and external deadlines for District deliverables. The Director of Special Projects for Turnaround Initiatives and Organizational Improvement will progress monitor the Turnaround Action Plan initiatives and look for opportunities to develop systems and improve service for students, staff, families, and community members while increasing transparency and accountability across the District.
- College degree from an accredited educational institution required
- Master’s degree preferred

- Work closely with the Senior Advisor to the Superintendent to monitor implementation of Turnaround Action Plan initiatives
- Work closely with the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet and Cabinet to ensure alignment and timeliness of District priorities.
- Work closely with network and department heads, District staff, students and families, and external stakeholder to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency, return on investment and transparency.
- Collaborate with District staff to design and implement improvement strategies.
- Support implementation of Turnaround Action Plan improvement initiatives across the District.
- Identify and support implementation of improved policies and procedures to support District goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated relevant work experience with high-level leaders such as superintendents, executive cabinet leaders, non-profit and/or community representatives or equivalent positions.
- Demonstrated track record of success in leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives; coalition- and relationship-building across diverse groups of stakeholders; and thriving in an achievement-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in an urban school district preferred.
- Ability to manage and complete projects with attention to detail, demonstrating strong organizational skills, ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps to reach the end goal, and ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Salary : $100,726 - $114,715
