This individual will play a vital role in reviewing and coding medical diagnoses, procedures, and services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in patient billing, insurance claims, and medical record coding.
Main Responsibilities:
- Code medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Process and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely payment
- Analyze and resolve claim issues, discrepancies, or denials
- Stay up-to-date on insurance policies, coding guidelines, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation
- Manage payments, accounts receivable, and patient billing statements
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Necessary Qualifications:
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
- Experience in clinical or healthcare settings, preferably 3 years
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
