JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Representative will increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities utilizing multiple marketing strategies. This position will work with the Business Development and Leadership teams to develop plans to create new revenue generation opportunities and build the company’s brand.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops an in-depth knowledge of company offerings as well as business position and competition to identify profitable business opportunities.
- Maintains an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets.
- Assists in the management of our CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, in conjunction with appropriate finance personnel.
- Assists in the on-going development and management of the company’s prospect/customer presentation.
- Assists in developing annual business development plans along with strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to achieve system and goals.
- Researches emerging trends, creating new opportunities to expand business as well as recommending new company offerings to satisfy customers’ needs.
- Tracks emerging markets and trends and presents business or marketing opportunities to the Business Development and Leadership teams.
- Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field. MBA a plus.
- 5 years of logistics experience (shorthaul/distribution center/warehouse experience preferred).
- Proven record of success in expanding customer base and increasing revenue potential with current and/or new customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to sit (car/airplane) and/or stand for long periods of time. The ability to use a computer, tablet or smart phone for extended periods of time. Basic use of office equipment such as copier and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in both a professional office (Work from Home), drive time in company truck/rental car/airplane, and customer and site visits.
COMPENSATION:
Salary plus commission.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload and needs of the company. Core business hours should be observed where possible.
TRAVEL:
Up to 50% travel may be expected.
