This Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the Accounts Payable department to ensure the payment of goods and services purchased are processed timely.
This individual must be organized with the ability to learn quickly. Main duties and responsibilities include data entry, coding, payment to vendors, account reconciliation and analysis. You will be an ESOP owner in the success of the Company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support entering payables for the department
- Assist in organizing and submitting document packages
- Support a high level of service to the accounting department
- Performing other routine and administrative accounting procedures
- Sends copies of invoices to appropriate department for review and approval
- Enters invoices into accounting software ensuring proper coding, approve and pay invoices
- Communicates with other offices and vendors to clear problems that arise and ensure invoices are paid within a timely manner
- Organizes and maintains A/P records
- Assists the Accounts Payable department with A/P accrual at month end
- Closes A/P cycles timely to help with monthly accounting closing
- Assists with audits, both internal and external, by handling all accounts payable related requests
- Obtains vendor statements and reconciles open payables with their open receivable statement
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
- Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
- Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ accounts payable experience
- High School Diploma at a minimum, Associates degree in Accounting a plus
- High Volume environment
- Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, and Excel
