Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is seeking a highly driven and experienced Public Affairs Administrator to lead public relations efforts, media outreach, and corporate communications. A key role within our Government and Community Affairs Department, the Public Affairs Administrator will serve as VRE’s Public Information Officer, managing communication strategies, media relations, and community engagement initiatives to enhance VRE’s public image and stakeholder relationships.

What are we looking for? Competitive Public Affairs Administrator candidates will be strategic communicators with a strong background in media relations, public affairs, and community engagement. Ideal candidates will excel in content creation, stakeholder outreach, and managing public relations campaigns in a fast-paced environment while maintaining VRE’s positive reputation and brand presence.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field.
• Proven success in writing and editing press materials and managing public affairs campaigns.
• Experience in social media management, media relations, and using relevant tools (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).
