The internship program will run from Monday, June 3rd, 2024, to Friday, August 9th, 2024.

Our Data Science team is made up of a diverse group of Engineers, Economists, Computer Scientists, Mathematicians, Physicists, Statisticians, and Actuaries tasked with mining our industry-leading internal data to develop new analytics capabilities for our businesses.
What you’ll experience:
You’ll find yourself working side-by-side with dedicated leaders driving strategies to achieve business results. You will build the framework for, as well as source, lead, and present forward-thinking, high-impact projects focused on supporting critical initiatives for our U.S. businesses, marketing, and corporate functions.
Your day to day may include:
- Applying statistical methods to the analysis of data to identify significant relationships.
- Designing, developing, and testing mathematical models, including statistical and machine learning models, that generate predictions, classifications, and insights.
- Interpreting model outputs and translating them into language applicable to the solution of business and customer outcomes.
- Applying knowledge of Prudential’s U.S. businesses, corporate groups, and relevant industry knowledge to analysis and insights, with a focus on “what it means” and actions to consider for execution, ultimately making high business impact.

Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited master’s degree program with an anticipated graduation date between December 2024 and May 2025
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred areas of study include Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial, Data Science, or comparable quantitative fields
- Industry experience with responsibility for developing advanced quantitative, analytical, and statistical solutions
- Hands-on experience applying a wide variety of statistical machine learning techniques to real-world problems spanning analysis, predictive modeling, and optimization of structured and unstructured data
- Experience using tools such as SQL, SageMaker, Python, R, or equivalent for statistical modeling of large data sets
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex statistical concepts to non-analytical stakeholders (Excel, Word and PowerPoint are a must)
- Knowledge of and familiarity with:
- Software engineering experience in C/C /C#/Java/Scala or similar object-oriented or functional languages is highly regarded but not a prerequisite.
- Prior academic or industry research experience is highly regarded but not a prerequisite.
- Prior exposure to financial services or the insurance industry may be helpful but is not a prerequisite.
