What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Prysmian Group?
The QA lab tech is responsible for overseeing laboratory-based tasks to ensure compliance to customer product requirements and provide data for analysis and product non-conformance root cause investigations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sampling, testing, inspecting, measuring, recording and analyzing results to ensure product compliance to industry standards and customer/engineering specifications. This position is also responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the manufacturing floor based on test data to support continuous improvement and non-conformance root cause investigations:
Principle Functional Responsibilities:
1. Provides recommendations and guidance to manufacturing floor based on precise data analysis and interpretation of industry standards
2. Oversees laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to ensure compliance to industry standards and customer/engineering specifications
3. Engages in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, especially those which can save time and improve QA lab reliability
4. Provides all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively
5. Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for
compliance of CTQs such as dimensions, performance, mechanical and electrical characteristics
6. Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials or
products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics
7. Confers with management and engineering staff to determine conformance to applicable specifications and standards
8. Applies strict adherence to correct procedures and safety guidelines during testing
9. Records and evaluates test data and documents deviations from standards
10. Enters data into computer for analysis¬
11. Carries out routine tasks timely and accurately following strict methodologies
12. Performs other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by Direct
Management

1. A result driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high-performance manufacturing environment
2. Must be able to manage constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
3. Proven experience in manufacturing management
4. Must have good attention to details, but be able to manage the big picture
5. Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis
6. Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement
7. Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities
8. Good written and oral communication skills
9. Solid planning, leadership, computer, and administrative skills
10. High energy; demonstrates urgency and fast pace
Desired Background
1. 2 – 4 years’ experience in wire and cable or related industry
2. Experience with various computer software systems
3. Project management skills and familiar with Lean Manufacturing tools
